stomach parasites

Studies show that about one-third of American’s are infected with an intestinal parasite at any given moment. Generally speaking, your immune system is able to either clear the parasite from your body or keep it in check, but sometimes they can get the better of us. There are two main types of intestinal parasites: helminths and protozoa. Protozoa are single cell organisms that can multiply inside the body, causing serious complications. Helminths are your generic worms (tapeworms, pinwormspin-worms, roundworms, hookworm) that are multi-celled and reproduce via eggs.

Stomach Parasites can live inside a person for years with or without causing symptoms. Sometimes a person starts having a health struggle and they have no idea the root cause is a parasite. Contrary to popular belief, it is possible to get stomach parasites from sources other than underdeveloped countries. Common methods of contracting a parasite include poor food/water sanitation, international travel, poor hygiene, having a weakened immune system, and even via the bottom of your foot. It really is not difficult to get a parasite.  Even not washing fruit and vegetables properly, under-cooked meat (chicken, turkey, beef, fish or pork) and enjoying raw sushi even though you eat plenty of ginger can lead to a parasite infestation. The way that parasites affect our body is by stealing nutrients we need to survive and thrive during the digestive process. This most commonly presents itself with digestive issues, or a general sensation of not feeling full after eating. In some cases, parasites can also lead to anemia due to malnutrition. Issues can also present themselves in unexpected ways: including insomnia, fatigue, apathy, /depression, skin irritations, acne, hair loss,   rashes, eczema/eczema, and muscle pain. Even though parasites live in our intestines primarily, they can release toxins into the bloodstream which affects these other areas of the body.

When I think of what are stomach parasites and what can they do to a person’s health I think of two clients I have seen and helped over the years.  One was a health minded 30 year old female that went to her sister in laws house for a few days and enjoyed the blueberries that were grown there. Her sister in law gave her a bag of frozen blueberries to enjoy at home. She forgot to wash them and started to eat them.  Soon after she had diarrhea pretty bad for a day.  Over the weeks she felt hungry all the time and started to gain weight. This hunger and weight loss happened for about 6 months. She came in to see us and we did stool testing that identified TWO parasites. She was properly treated by our MD on staff and immediately felt better.  (Sometimes natural support is fine, but other times our MD steps in with medication)
The second case was a lady with terrible cystic acne. She had a totally clean diet and was healthy otherwise. We did food intolerance testing and stool testing. She had ZERO food intolerances and ONE nasty parasite showed up. We gave her an herbal supportive product and her acne went away.

At Nutritionally Yours, we understand GI challenges including stomach parasite concerns. See our website on gut health and stool testing  for more information. we recommend a comprehensive stool test for those who think they might have an stomach intestinal parasite.  Our tests are more accurate than simpler conventional tests, and they look for a broader spectrum of potential issues. Irritable Bowel SyndromeWe have a large number of clients that call us and say they think they have Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS) and they want to know how they can tell and they want to know what is causing it. Irritable Bowel Syndrome is a common disorder that affects the colon. While the symptoms can be long-term for some and uncomfortable for many, the good news is that IBS will not increase your risk of cancer or cause changes in bowel tissue.
Symptoms can be different for everyone suffering with IBS concerns. Common symptoms for Irritable bowel syndrome include abdominal pain and cramping, feeling bloated, gas, diarrhea, constipation, or mucus in the stool. The struggle with these symptoms is that since there are so many other disorders that they could point to, it is difficult to point them directly to IBS. It should be noted that if you experience more serious symptoms such as rectal bleeding, pain that progresses or occurs at night, or extreme weight loss you should speak to your doctor as it may point towards a more serious condition.

While there is no known official cause for IBS, it is influenced by a variety of factors. Your gut contains a multitude of bacteria that aids in digestion that is kept in balance for digestive efficiency. When this bacteria is out of balance, called dysbiosis, the bad bacteria can wreak havoc and cause digestion issues. The walls of the intestines expand and contract in a coordinated rhythm in order to move food through the digestive tract. If these movements are too slow or too fast it can cause issues as well.

At Nutritionally Yours we see and hear from a multitude of people saying they have irritable bowel syndrome. They are troubled by the symptoms and they want to know for sure if it is IBS and then they want to get to the root cause of symptoms and get better once and for all. One type of test we run is a comprehensive stool test to identify gut / microbiome imbalances that can lead to irritable bowel syndrome (IBS). While individuals might have different symptoms, everyone wants relief. When we run a stool test we see different things show up which are causing the irritable bowel syndrome. One client may have a few harmful bacteria, another client might have a parasite and another might have low hydrochloric acid or overall low digestive enzymes. Some people have a high gut inflammation level caused by a pathogen or food intolerance. Either way we can identify the culprit and help you eliminate it once and for all which gets you on the road to better gut health and overall health and wellness.

If you are wanting to tell the cause of your Irritable bowel and you are suffering from symptoms, we recommend a comprehensive stool testto determine the cause of your symptoms. Whether it be IBS or another issue, our tests will show us just what is going on in your gut so we can give you a detailed protocol and get you feeling like yourself again.

Hundreds of clients from the Atlanta, GA area and around the world work with Nutritionally Yours. Our programs of health awareness have been so successful that we made our testing available via the internet.

Candida YeastIf you are struggling with weight loss despite dietary and lifestyle changes, you might be suffering from a candida yeast overgrowth. Candida is a naturally occurring yeast in the body that aids in digestion and the absorption of nutrients from food. As is with most pathogens in our body, an overabundance of candida can actually break down the gut and leak into the bloodstream – wreaking havoc on other organs and processes. A key symptom to look for is high sugar/grain cravings. Candida, being a yeast, feeds off of these. The more candida yeast you have in you, the higher these cravings will be. Sugar and grains are the two foods people are most likely to be “addicted” to but as soon as the candida yeast gets under control it is easier to kick these habits.

Here’s what is actually happening when candida gets out of control:

First, a diet high in sugar and grains creates an environment that is optimal for growth of yeast, which then increases sugar and grain cravings even more. These two then continue to cycle and increase each other which causes the state of overgrowth. Once this stage has been reached, the candida will actually begin to break down the intestinal walls and enter the bloodstream. It should be noted that the candida yeast, whether in low or high quantities, is constantly dying and reproducing. It is these dead candida cells that cause stress on the body and difficulty losing weight. The liver can only process out so many of these dead cells, so once it has reached a point of overload it stores the excess in fat cells to be processed later, typically around the waist and hips. The candida yeast that gets to other organs in the body can cause numerous other issues as well that are often misdiagnosed. These range from the expected digestion issues (weight gain, oral thrush, IBS, constipation, loose stools, poor digestion, bloating, etc.) to those issues you might not expect such as mental issues (sleep troubles, foggy head, mood swings, etc.) and whole body issues (fatigue, eczema, asthma, sinus congestion, an overall feeling of heaviness in the body, etc.)

If you have tried countless dietary and lifestyle changes, but you just can’t shake off that extra weight, then you might be suffering from a candida yeast overgrowth. At Nutritionally Yours we recommend a comprehensive stool analysis test to look at your candida yeast levels when there is no weight loss for people trying to lose weight. Once we have your results, we will send them to you with a protocol to support better health and wellness.

Hundreds of clients from the Atlanta, GA area and around the world work with Nutritionally Yours. Our programs of health awareness have been so successful that we made our testing available via the internet.

stomach bacteriaDysbiosis is what happens when a person has an imbalance in the bacteria in their gut. The gut is where the body processes nutrients and begins the process for distributing them throughout the body, and thus it is a central part of health for the entire body as well. An issue in the gut can cause gut specific symptoms, but also can show up everywhere from the blood to the brain and even the immune system as a whole. Think of your gut as a “gatekeeper” that regulates what goes into the body and what gets processed out. Within the gut, there are good bacteria that help to process and digest food, and there are bad bacteria that can cause diseases within the GI tract. Having an imbalance of bacteria can leave you not feeling well and not able to be your optimum self. The number of bacteria in your body outnumber your cells ten to one. These bacteria serve a vital role in keeping you feeling your absolute best.

There are numerous symptoms that can point to an imbalance in gut bacteria. Some obvious and gut specific ones are constipation, excess intestinal gas, too little or no intestinal gas, chronic diarrhea, bloating and bad breath. Some that you might not expect that point towards bad gut bacteria are hormonal problems, menstrual complaints, prostate trouble, candida infection, chronic respiratory problems, dairy allergies, B deficiencies, high cholesterol, neurological problems, susceptibility to bruising, chronic vaginal infections, chronic bladder infections, osteoporosis, frequent immune challenges, eczema, ear aches, chronic sinus challenges, and sarcopenia.

An imbalance of stomach bacteria can influence the food allergies you have. By not being able to process food as well, it is not uncommon to develop food allergies or food intolerances. The healthier your gut, the less reactive to food you can be. Food reactions affect more than fifteen million Americans, and one in thirteen children. The number of children affected from 1997-2011 increased by more than 50%! Good gut bacteria directly affect how well your body is able to process foods, and when this process is disrupted by bad bacteria foods can cause stress to your gut and weaken your immune system.

At Nutritionally Yours we recommend a comprehensive stool test for those who think they might have symptoms of dysbiosis. Our stool tests looks at an abundance of gut health markers. Some of these are ph, good, bad and really bad bacteria levels, digestion markers, parasites and worms, inflammation levels, yeast and sigA which indicates leaky gut levels. Results take about three weeks to come in, and once they do we will provide you with a health supportive protocol to get you feeling better and get you to being the best you that you can be!

Hundreds of clients from the Atlanta, GA area and around the world work with Nutritionally Yours. Our programs of health awareness have been so successful that we made our testing available via the internet.

ulcerative colitisHave you or a loved one been diagnosed with, or experienced signs and symptoms that might point to, ulcerative colitis (UC)? If so, then you know how difficult UC can make day to day life. Those with ulcerative colitis often find themselves with a lack of appetite for fear of the symptoms, leaving them hungry all day and experiencing other health complications like fatigue and dehydration. Problems in the gut can affect the entire body one way or another, so it is important to be aware of the needs of your body by listening to and learning about your gut.

First, let us define ulcerative colitis for those who are not familiar. Ulcerative colitis is an inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) that causes inflammation and ulcers in the digestive tract. Specifically, UC affects the large intestine (colon) and the rectum. UC typically develops over time rather than suddenly appears. While there is not one main cause for UC, there are a few possible causes. One is an immune system malfunction, similar to an auto immune attack where the body attacks its own cells.  Normally the immune system’s job is to fight off bad bacteria and viruses, but sometimes it can mistake good bacteria and even food as invaders to be fought off.  This is why many people find some ulcerative colitis relief when they identify food triggers from their diet. Heredity has also been shown to play a factor in causing UC. It should also be mentioned that while stress and diet are not necessarily the cause, they can aggravate the symptoms.

The defining difference between UC and other gut problems, such as Crohn’s disease, is that ulcerative colitis symptoms only affect the colon and rectum while Crohn’s disease affects the entire gastrointestinal tract, from the rectum to the mouth. Also, the difference between Ulcerative colitis symptoms and irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) is that IBS deals more with muscle contractions and UC deals with ulcers and inflammation. Those with Ulcerative colitis will have some of the following signs and symptoms, depending on what part of the colon is affected: diarrhea (often with blood or pus), abdominal pain and cramping, rectal pain, rectal bleeding, urgency to defecate, and inability to defecate despite urgency. If unchecked, UC can also lead to weight loss, lack of growth in children, colon cancer, inflammation in other parts of the body, perforated colon, and an increased risk of blood clots.

While there is no “known cure” for Ulcerative Colitis, we have found that it is definitely possible to calm down the signs and symptoms and bring people relief.  Life does not have to be filled with the stress of always worrying where a bathroom is and always being fearful of eating before leaving the house. The key to relief is to get educated in your personal gut health and support your gut the way it needs to be supported.  Proper gut support can bring about healing which can lead to ulcerative colitis symptoms relief. Nutritionally Yours offers a comprehensive stool test that can show you what your body needs to encourage self-healing and get you feeling better. We test good and harmful bacteria levels, look for parasites, yeast and worms, look at inflammation markers, digestive enzyme needs, PH and more.  Once your personal results come in, we will provide you with a protocol complete with exactly what you need to do to get a hold of your ulcerative colitis symptoms, and find relief that will improve the quality of your life.

Irritable Bowel SyndromeThe major function of the digestive system is to break down food and provide a means by which the nutrients can be absorbed in the body. Nutrients that are liberated by this process allow the body to grow, heal and function on a day-to-day basis (Pick 1).” Any break in the digestive system can affect people’s day to day lives since the body is not able to process nutrients as efficiently. Irritable bowel syndrome, also called IBS, is a chronic gastrointestinal disorder that affects the colon. Other names for IBS are spastic colon, functional bowel disease, and mucous colitis (Cunha 1).

There are two states that your gut health can be in. Symbiosis means that good and bad bacteria are “living in harmony,” while dysbiosis is when the gut is out of balance and bad bacteria dominate. It is during dysbiosis that disorders such as Irritable Bowel Syndrome occur. While professionals debate over the official cause of IBS, the symptoms are always improved by cleaning up the gut and restoring symbiosis. It is also important to test and see what nutrients your body is lacking, or even getting too much of. Once these have been identified, adding and reducing as needed will improve gut balance, which improves digestion, which improves the immune system, and then leads to a noticeable improvement in your daily life.

IBS is more common than most would think, and signs can include but are not limited to: abdominal cramping, abdominal discomfort, pain with bowel movements, change in stool frequency, flatulence, bloating, mucus in the stool, and alternating periods of diarrhea or constipation (Cunha 2). While these symptoms often vary person to person, they can often make day to day life difficult especially in more chronic cases.

Many times we have clients come in that have signs and symptoms of irritable bowel syndrome and express their concerns about the restrictions they put upon themselves in their daily life. They are worried while at school, at work, during sports events, shopping trips, car pool lines, concerts and of course during long trips. Many do not eat in the morning to assure they will not trigger irritable bowel symptoms while away from their home. They also eat a bland diet once they get home. This habit is not only unhealthy and exhausting but it is depressing and unnecessary for many IBS sufferers. Irritable bowel syndrome relief can occur with the right tools and support.

If you find yourself with any of these troubling symptoms, we at Nutritionally Yours recommend a comprehensive stool test kit to identify the cause of these symptoms. Results may also indicate harmful bacteria, leaky gut, low digestive enzymes, high inflammation or even a stubborn parasite that the body is having trouble eliminating on its own. This is an easy to use kit that we deliver directly to you; our test kit is a three day test that gives you results in three weeks. In the meantime, try to find some relief by eliminating foods that over stimulate the intestines such as coffee, alcohol, dairy products, fatty foods, sugary foods, and artificial sweeteners.

Hundreds of clients from the Atlanta, GA area and around the country work with the staff at Nutritionally Yours. Our programs of health awareness have been so successful that we made our testing available via the internet.

Having a stomach parasite can be a scary thought, but parasites are far more common than you think. It’s a myth that parasites only exist in underdeveloped countries. Parasites can cause a myriad of symptoms, only a few of which are actually digestive in nature.stomach parasites

Over half of all Americans will be infected with an intestinal parasite at some point in their lives. Yet, many of us do not recognize the signs and symptoms of a parasite infection because they can occur weeks or even years after the initial infection, and because a parasitic infection often mimics other similar conditions.

A parasite is any organism that lives and feeds off of another organism. Parasites are tiny organisms, usually worms, that feed off of your nutrition.

Some examples of stomach parasites include roundworms, tapeworms, pinworms, whipworms, hookworms, and more. Because parasites come in so many different shapes and sizes, they can cause a very wide range of problems.

  • Some consume your food, leaving you hungry after every meal and unable to gain weight. Others feed off of your red blood cells, causing anemia.
  • Some lay eggs that can cause itching, irritability, and even insomnia.

If you have tried countless approaches to heal your gut and relieve your symptoms without any success, a parasite could be the underlying cause for many of your unexplained and unresolved symptoms.

Signs and Symptoms You May Have Stomach Parasites

  • International travel and experienced traveler’s diarrhea
  • History of food poisoning and your digestion has not been the same since
  • Never feeling satisfied or full after a meal
  • Weight loss
  • Constipation, diarrhea, gas & bloating, irritable bowel syndrome (IBS)
  • Joint and muscle aches
  • Iron-deficiency anemia
  • Skin conditions such as hives, rashes, rosacea or eczema
  • Bruxism – the abnormal grinding, clenching, and gnashing of the teeth
  • Fatigue, exhaustion, apathy, depression, difficulty concentrating, and impaired cognitive ability
  • Sleep disorders such as trouble falling asleep, or waking up multiple times during the night
  • Restlessness, nervousness, and anxiety

Currently, World Health Organization studies indicate that about 1/2 billion individuals are infected annually by stomach parasites like Ameba histolytica and about the same number are infected by Giardia and Cryptosporidium.

Oh my! ! ! What is a person to do????

If you think you have signs and symptoms of stomach parasites, the best way to test is by ordering a comprehensive stool analysis!

Candida YeastOne phase of my health journey, was getting rid of the yeast, Candida. But then I needed to prevent the yeast, candida from creeping back into my gut and overpowering my body again. So…. I chose to eat a diet to keep the fungus away.

Yes I had to stop eating sugar (one of the major causes of Candida and yeast overgrowth), dairy, breads, pasta, cakes, sugar, starches, junk foods, ice cream, sugar, sugar, and……..sugar.

I started eating non starchy vegetables, coconut oil, garlic, onions, seaweed, ginger, olive oil, pumpkin seeds, coconut milk yogurt (no sugar added), healthy proteins like grass fed beef, organic chicken, gluten free turkey, wild fish, pork, non – processed real down to earth good food. There are lots of tasty sources of proteins, fats and non-starchy carbohydrates that you can use to prepare your meals. And there is no limit to how you can use herbs, spices and other flavorings to make them even more delicious.

Here are two easy and yummy recipes to keep the Yeast, Candida away:

Rosemary Chicken (Roasted in cooler months, Grilled in warmer months)

Chicken breasts
4 TBS olive oil
1 TBS lemon juice
½ tsp. oregano
½ tsp. rosemary
½ tsp. sage
¼ tsp. sea salt or pink Himalayan salt

Preheat oven to 450. Arrange chicken in pan. Combine ingredients in small bowl; mix well and brush over chicken. Roast until juices run clear (about 20 min). Broil six inches from heat for 3 min.

And a great side dish to go along with the Chicken:

(with grilled meats in the summer and roasted meats in the fall)

Citrus Green Beans

Serves 8 to 10

This side dish is equally good when served warm or at room temperature.

Ingredients

2 pounds green beans, trimmed
2 TBS walnut oil
3 TBS olive oil
Juice of 1 lemon
1 tsp. grated lemon zest
Sea salt or Pink Himalayan salt

In a large saucepan of boiling salted water, cook green beans until just tender, 5 to 8 minutes. While they are cooking, whisk together both oils, lemon juice and zest. Drain beans and toss with dressing while still hot. Season with salt and pepper.

Eating to be healthy can be easy, fun, and delicious. And how wonderful it is to feel better and be able to enjoy life more and more!

candidaWe all need food to survive. We all eat food each and every day. Sometimes we cook food and dine in and other times we eat out. Some food effects our health in a good way and other foods effect our health in a negative way. The more I learn about food the more I wonder how it is affecting my health. And when I eat with others, I can’t help to wonder how the food they are eating affects their health………..especially when I am concerned about the yeast called Candida.

Many years ago when I was in my twenty’s and thirty’s I suffered from frequent UTI ‘s (urinary tract infections) and vaginal infections, plus irritable bowel, acne, itchy scalp, terrible fatigue, just to name a few annoying symptoms. I had no clue until I saw it and really understood it that I was FULL of the yeast candida and the yeast was affecting my symptoms and yes, my everyday health and wellness. After I realized how my daily diet was “feeding” the candida yeast inside of me and helping it grow and flourish I decided to stop the cycle once and for all.

Looking back 20-30 years it is no surprise that my health took such a turn for the worse. My diet was awful! I was feeding sickness, disease and yes …………CANDIDA YEAST! My days started out with the typical American food diet. Breakfast was a bowl of sugary cereal and a glass of milk. Lunch was a sandwich on a white bread roll with some kind of deli meat and cheese of course. Snack was a sugary rich cupcake, brownie, muffin or cookies. By dinner time I was so full of bloat I really wasn’t hungry. But I ate anyway. Dinner was a combination of fast foods, milk shakes, french fries, macaroni and cheese, hamburger helper, pizza with extra cheese and a thick crust, hot dogs. And of course each night, while watching television I had to enjoy a bowl of ice cream or frozen yogurt.

I will never forgot the first person that talked to me about Candida Yeast and how it was affecting my health. It was a Chiropractor in New Jersey and I really did not want to listen to his comments on changing my diet to stop feeding the yeast and the sickness. I liked my pizza and ice cream and did not want to stop. As the cystic acne got worse along with the fatigue, joint pain, bloating, and constant upset stomachs, I gave up and started the change in diet, one step at a time. I actually thought I was doing a good thing giving up regular ice cream pops and switching them out for rice dream ice cream pops, but my chiropractor giggled and reminded me it is still sugar, dairy free, but still sugar. Those kind of treats are fine, once in awhile, just not on an every single day basis like I was enjoying.

CandidaDon’t you just love celebrating holidays and feasting on those occasions?

Here is something dealing with feasting that you may have never thought about. The modern diet is like a feast for Candida, since it is a yeast that needs sugar to thrive and multiply. That includes sugar itself, foods containing sugar and also anything that converts to sugar. Refined carbohydrates like processed foods made with white flour, other refined grains and alcohol can all contribute to Candida growth.

You might be wondering, What is Candida and how did those ‘yeastie beasties’ invite themselves over to my “house” for a feast?

Candida is a fungus, which is a form of yeast, and a very small amount of it lives in your mouth and intestines. It is important to realize that everyone has Candida already. It is a microorganism that is naturally present in your gut, part of the balanced system that helps you to digest food and stay fit and well. Its job is to aid with digestion and nutrient absorption, but when overproduced, Candida breaks down the wall of the intestine and penetrates the bloodstream, releasing toxic byproducts into your body and causing leaky gut. This can lead to many different health problems, ranging from digestive issues, fatigue, weight issues and depression.

Some Common Candida Overgrowth Symptoms & Health Challenges

The Way You Feel On A Day To Day Basis – Inability to focus, Poor memory, Brain fog, Irritability, Anger, Dizziness, Depression, Crying spells, Panic attacks, Low libido, Persistent extreme fatigue, Hyperactivity, Cravings for sweets and alcohol, Insomnia, Poor coordination.

Digestive System Malfunction – Acid reflux, Bloating, Flatulence, Nausea, Diarrhea, Constipation, Stomach cramps, Indigestion, Burping after meals, Mucus in stool, Hemorrhoids, Itching anus.

Autoimmune Disease – such as Hashimoto’s thyroiditis, Rheumatoid arthritis, Ulcerative colitis, Lupus, Psoriasis, Fibromyalgia, Scleroderma or Multiple sclerosis.

Skin problems – Acne, Cysts, Hives, Night sweats, Psoriasis, Eczema, Dermatitis, Fungal infections of the nails & skin, Athlete’s foot, Body odor.

Oral Hygiene Situations – Thrush (white coating on tongue), Swollen lower lip, Halitosis, Metallic taste in mouth, Bad breath, Canker sores, Bleeding gums, Cracked tongue.

Respiratory System Problems – Persistent cough, Mucus in throat, Sore throat, Sinus congestion, Chronic post-nasal drip, Flu-like symptoms, Hay fever symptoms, Sinusitis, Asthma.

Challenges For Ears And Eyes – Eye pain, Itchy eyes, Sensitivity to light, Blurred vision, Bags under eyes, Ringing in the ears, Ear infections.

Genito-Urinary System Havoc – Recurring yeast infections, Recurring UTI’s (urinary tract infections), Cystitis (inflammation of the bladder), PMS & menstrual irregularities, Fungal rash, Vaginal itching.

Immune System Breakdown – Frequent colds and flu, Allergies, Sensitivities to food, fragrances and chemicals.

Weight Problems – Inability to lose weight, Water retention, Weight loss.

Other Candida Overload Symptoms – Headaches, Heart palpitations, Chronic body pain and/or joint pains, Muscle aches and stiffness.

The consensus for the most accurate test available for Candida overgrowth is Stool Testing. To get the “full picture” of what is going on in your colon / lower intestines, a Comprehensive Stool Test is recommended. It covers a broader range of the possibilities of what is happening in your colon. The species of yeast will be determined at the lab.

Because the symptoms of Candida can be the same as other conditions, Candida is often overlooked, and the following symptoms can be misinterpreted:

  • IBS / Irritable Bowel Syndrome – abdominal pain, bloating, gas, diarrhea, indigestion
  • Crohn’s Disease – abdominal pain, bloating, gas, diarrhea, indigestion
  • Gastroenteritis – abdominal pain, bloating, gas, diarrhea, indigestion
  • Arthritis – joint pain
  • Chronic Fatigue Syndrome – constant fatigue
  • Athlete’s Foot – Fungus on toenails

If Candida is not identified, the misinterpretation may lead to the wrong course of action, and it may actually worsen your Candida overgrowth. For instance, if it is believed that you have IBS, Crohn’s Disease or Gastroenteritis, the anti-inflammatory Cortisone may be given. This will introduce steroids to the gut, which can increase the growth of Candida colonies.
